In the coming weeks , Google will add a new role in the systems of Nexus phones. Called “Wi-Fi Assistant”, the feature allows the phone to connect automatically to millions of free points Wi-Fi in an effort to cut user spending data and optimize the speed of internet .
to date, this type of functionality was restricted to cell service Project Fi, Google. Now, it is available for use in any Nexus device in the United States, Mexico, Canada, the UK and Nordic countries such as Finland.
To enable the use of “Wi-Fi Assistant”, just enter the Android system settings, click Google, Networking and there turn the key to start the function. If the phone is using the internet via Wi-Fi Assistant, you should see the design of a key at the top of the screen. The icon is identical to the use of VPN Android .
If you do not want to use a network suggested by Wi-Fi Assistant, just click on “forget” when the option appears on the screen.
