In a page dedicated to the Nexus social network Google Plus, the giant of Mountain View announced that Nexus devices will gain a new wizard for data connections. With it, users will be Automatically connect to open Wi-Fi access points with greater security.
With this, the Wi-Fi Assistant helps users save their account data and, of course, increase the connection speed, providing more than one million free Wi-Fi hotspots .
the feature was originally an exclusive feature Project Fi, the company is now expanding with the name of Wi-Fi Assistant to all Nexus users.
At the moment the feature is only available for users in the United States, Canada, Mexico, the UK and Nordic countries. It will be released over the next few weeks, and there is no word on release to those in other regions.
However, it is worth remembering that Google announced in July 2015 its claims to provide WiFi access in streets of major cities in the world. So it is not unrealistic to imagine that someday some Brazilian capitals also receive access hotspots – and, who knows, the new assistant in the form of a separate application in the Play Store
