It is a tradition of the smartphone market: every major release, iFixit site personnel dismantle a unit to assess whether the cell can be fixed easily, and to show its interior. Now came the turn of the Nexus 6, which received a good (but not great) score repairability index.
The note received was a 7, when the maximum is 10. One of the main problems for repairs is that various components are soldered to the motherboard, preventing its removal. On the positive side, however, is the fact that little use of adhesives or clips, which reduces the chance of damage to the repair time. The device uses only one type of screw for easy handling.
The pieces are found in several different manufacturers. SK Hynix is 3 GB of RAM Nexus 6, while Qualcomm produces system-on-chip Snapdragon 805, the modem and power management. SanDisk already offers 32 GB of internal flash storage.
Below are some photos of the Nexus 6 disassembled. To check other and the whole process of disassembly, check out the iFixit website.
