Many were upset with the fact that the Night mode has disappeared in the Nexus, 6P, and in the Nexus, 5X so that the OTA Android Nougat 7.1 beta was installed. After a lot of have commented on the omission of Night mode, Ian Lake of Google spoke about why the feature has been removed, it seems that the Nexus devices would required the drivers that these smartphones had not.
Many users have sent feedback to the beta version, and many of them referred to the lack of this mode as a bug. Google must have heard all of these complaints because now someone in the giant north american rated the issue as "closed" with a status of "FutureRelease".
This means technically that the problem has been resolved and that the fix for the issue will be applied in a future update. Maybe Google had removed only the Night mode because it was inconsistent with the Google Pixel’s "Night Light".
In any case, we hope to see the functionality back to the Nexus 6P and 5X in the beta program.
