Expert says that only the Nexus, Google Pixel and iPhones … – AndroidGeek

Unfortunately, not rare are the examples of security flaws in smartphones that make it possible that they can be controlled by third parties. According to Chris Soghoian, a technologist of the Union of Civil Liberties of the United States (ACLU), this problem is even greater which makes it appear to be.

According to Soghoian, the only devices that are actually secure on the market are the iPhones, the Nexus and the new Google Pixel. The iPhones because they incorporate trusted technologies of cryptography and security, the Nexus and the Google Pixel because it receives constantly security updates from Google. All the others are susceptible to failures that compromise all of the data contained on the devices.

This issue of security in smartphones has emerged in the discourse of Soghoian, during the Mozfest 2016, on the surveillance of the governments on the media. According to the same, "the telecom companies have a history of more than a century of cooperation with the initiatives of governmental oversight", therefore, "our systems of communication have been built with monitoring in mind".

There was, however, a positive change in this situation with the revelations made by Edward Snowden about the schema of mass surveillance of the government of the United States. Since then, Google has started to use the HTTPS protocol by default in your web browser, which initiated a process of strengthening the digital security.

in The footsteps of Google were followed by other technology companies, such as Facebook and Apple, in its effort to make HTTPS the default protocol. Currently, according to Soghoian, thanks to these attitudes, more than half of the traffic that circulates on the Internet uses this protocol.
