Released in September of 2015, the Nexus 5X in conjunction with the Nexus 6P formed the new duo of smartphones from Google. If the 6P has been manufactured by Huawei, already the 5X had the hand of the South Korean LG. Recently, some owners of the Nexus 5X started to complain about something that appeared to be hardware problems, which caused the phone to stay in the infinite loop (it is not the first time that this happens to phones from LG).
The cases with the passage of time were increasing, and the normal procedure to take, is to activate the warranty and send the phone back to the manufacturer. But it seems that the Nexus 5 is now completely out of production, and there are no replacement parts, so that the LG has decided to take a different approach in these cases.
According to an email from LG sent to some customers, the company is now the refund (the full purchase price) the owners of the devices affected by this problem. As always, this process takes some time, so the "injured parties" will have to wait four weeks to get the refund.
The email that customers are receiving, it was shared on Reddit:
“we’re Sorry to hear that you had problems with your LGH790, but we appreciate the fact that you have given us the opportunity to repair, according to your warranty. We have received your device into our repair facility, but currently to complete the repair, it is needed a piece that is out of stock, and no longer will be available. To correct this problem, we would like to offer a refund of the full value of your device. This amount will be determined by your purchase receipt. It may take up to 4 weeks to get refund, due to the holidays.”
Get a full refund of the value of the instrument, is the best thing that could happen to users that have suffered problems in their equipment. With the value in question, surely buy the in the days of today’s smartphones with the latest hardware.
THE LG is to proceed in a way very correct with their users.
