[Users report problems with audio Nexus 5] - Xpert Mobile

Some users who purchased the Google Nexus 5 in its first batch are facing some problems in the audio quality of the smartphone, especially during voice calls.

Some smartphones are showing a very low quality links thanks mainly to the phone’s microphone, but still no one knows for sure what the cause of the problem. At the moment there are two speculations, one possibility is an error in the built-in noise cancellation that the smartphone would be having a hard time recognizing what is voice and what is unnecessary noises, system algorithm the other possibility is simply defective hardware as parts or some glue in the wrong place.

Users also reported that the problem is not restricted to voice calls, since apps like SoundHound, voice recorders or even Google Now are having difficulty recognizing audio by microphone appliance.

is not the first time Google goes through this kind of problem. The first batch of the new version of the Nexus 7 malfunctioned on the touchscreen and GPS, forcing Google to work on fixes quickly.
