LG Nexus 5X using gestures on the fingerprint reader and Assistant … – PC World

Sales of the Ipad continue to fall, but Apple ceo Tim Cook promises exciting updates.

In its latest quarterly report, Apple announced that they sold 13.1 million Ipad devices during the quarter covering christmas 2016. The corresponding quarter of the previous year, was sold at 16.1, and compared with the 26 million units sold in the corresponding quarter of 2013, the amount halved.

Apple ceo Tim Cook has on several previous occasions, expressed its confidence in the #Ipad, and said during the quarterly report, once again, that he was optimistic. Cook says:

– We have some exciting things in the works when it comes to the Ipad, and I am optimistic about the direction in which it goes. Customer satisfaction is phenomenal. For the Ipad Pro are the 99 percent. So I see a lot of good things, and hope for better results.

Apple is the market leader when it comes to tablets, but other manufacturers are experiencing declining sales, according to data from research Firm IDC, the Worldwide. Samsung is the second largest as regards the shipped units, and were off by 8 million plates during the last quarter; a decrease of 11.4 per cent. Only two manufacturers managed to grow compared with last year; Lenovo and Huawei, which sold 3.7 and 3.2 million units.

According to IDC’s report, it is still Apple’s simpler Ipad-models that account for the majority of sales, that is to say, the Ipad Air 2 and the Ipad Mini rather than the more advanced and more expensive Ipad Pro. Apple reveals itself not how many of each model they sold.

One reason for the declining sales can be considered that most consumers do not update an Ipad or other plate as often as a smart mobile phone. For Apple’s part, it may mean that many Ipad owners are still using an older model and don’t see any need to update.
