Google offers site to update Nexus devices – canaltech (Blog)

in an effort to allow the Nexus device users can get the latest version of Android as soon as possible, Google launched a new website that allows the user to download the latest operating system OTA updates for their devices.

Previously, Google only allowed to download the Android factory images to your devices, but now users can download the OTA updates compatible with Nexus devices and install via a simple ADB command in recovery. With this, the update process of the Nexus line of devices to the latest version of Android will be faster for users.

To download the OTA, just visit the site, accept the terms and conditions use and search for the corresponding update your Nexus device. Once downloaded, you must follow a few steps to install the file. Google recommends that, before starting the installation process, you make a backup of all data stored on your device.
