Google confirms the end of the Nexus Player – Digital Look

It has come to end the life cycle of the Nexus Player, first set-top box Google. Launched in late 2014, the product was removed from the Google Store months after disappearing from the dealerships catalog as Best Buy.

You can still find the device in some places, however, just have a little luck . “Nexus Player is still available in some stores,” said a spokesman at The Verge.

Android TV software will not be discontinued. Also because the system is present in Shield (Nvidia) and a number of TV brands like Sony and Sharp.

The Nexus Player was manufactured by Asus and served to make room for the search giant to enter the rooms of users. After him came Google TV and Chromecast.
