Comparison: Nexus 6 vs Nexus 5 – Tudocelular.com

Motorola has been chosen by Google to create the Nexus 6, smartphone that has replaced the Nexus 5, made by LG, as cell created as a special request from the search giant. Inside the differences are not so great, but outside there is a new device in almost every way. Is it worth the upgrade if you already have a Nexus 5 at home?

design

This way there are specific signatures of each brand, as the Motorola put lines that resemble the Moto X on your Nexus 6 and LG made clear that the Nexus 5 design came directly from the same table that created the G2. Everything changes, from the glass that makes a simple curve the edges of the Nexus 6, the speaker grill to call in circular form of the Nexus 5 and the metal is in the latest handset, compared to only plastic on the Nexus 5. Another change drastic is the screen size and this has a positive side and a negative, with the technology used in the display. The Nexus screen 6 is almost 1 inch larger than the Nexus 5, which makes it a much larger device and less ergonomic, even with a slightly curved back. The Nexus fits better in your hands, but does not have the high screen contrast ratio AMOLED Motorola (Nexus 5 will IPS) and movies are best, as well as games, in a display of greater proportions – see, I speak better display and no comfort in the footprint.

Hardware

We are in the family 800 Qualcomm, which changes little in its variants when performance is at stake . The Nexus 5 delivers a Snapdragon 800 processor running four cores at 2.3 GHz, accompanied by 2 GB of RAM and Adreno 330. Since the Nexus 6 works with a Snapdragon 805, also running four cores, but at 2.7 GHz (difference 500 MHz), together with 3 GB of RAM and a GPU Adreno 420. The difference is that higher quality for some side is more on the GPU and RAM memory, especially for the Nexus screen 6, with twice the resolution that the Nexus 5 – it consumes more CPU and GPU. Apps like Facebook, Twitter and Instagram opened at the same time on both sides. Not so in Asphalt 8, which first opened in the Nexus 5 and loaded faster track of playing. The difference here was quite large, showing that a newer and powerful hardware, the Nexus 6. During gaming performance was the same, with frame rate per second very similar and with the same configuration of graphical effects.

Camera

Google chose higher resolution for the Nexus 6, which works with 13 megapixel 8 megapixel against the previous model. Even with a change in the number of pixels, the difference in quality in the final image is quite small, almost imperceptible. What changes, really, is the amount of detail that is captured precisely because of the higher resolution (it only appears when you give zoom in the photo). The same goes for night shots, which look great on both sides and with low noise. – Job well done and HDR post-processing of both smartphones

Conclusion

If you have a Nexus 5 and think about changing the version in May recent, our tip is that you continue in Neuxs 5. Both devices are already on the latest version of Android and the performance was exactly same for both sides and the camera quality almost no difference exists. The biggest changes you will feel are the greater autonomy of the battery Nexus 6, the difference between AMOLED and IPS screen, larger screen, stereo speaker in front and larger internal storage space (16 GB to 32 GB, as initial) model. Still, the extra investment is worth. Keep your Nexus 5.
