Google finally released this Monday (5) the files of OTA update relating to the Android 7.1.1 Nougat. The update began to be released last Friday (2), but can now be installed manually on the device without overwriting the entire system – the package applies to on Android 7.1 and updates without resetting the device.
As was expected, the new Android is available initially to a small portion of models. Are in the list, the Nexus 6P and Nexus 5X, in addition to of the Google Pixel and Pixel XL. The Android 7.1.1 can still be installed on the hybrid Pixel C, on the tablet Nexus 9 and the set-top box Nexus Player.
The files for download, remember, will only work if installed by means of side load. The process requires specific knowledge about Android and is not recommended for beginners, under penalty of destruction of the device. Interestingly, even upgraded to Android 7.0 Nougat, the Nexus 6 was left out this time. Google did not go into details about what’s new variant rookie of the Android. All that is known until now is that the new version brings bug fixes and security enhancements.
