On Wednesday, Google released an update to the Google Search Nexus 5. At first, this initiative did not call much attention, since updates are always issued to fix bugs or bring improvements to the software company. However, in this case an “extra” modification attracted the eyes of many people.
By downloading and installing the package to Google Search, the name of the Nexus 5 launcher was modified to “Google Now Launcher”. Contrary to what many people may think, this is perhaps not just a title change, implying that the Mountain View giant can offer the software to other Android devices in the near future.
This would be done by downloading the Google Play, but the situation is only a hypothesis, since nothing has been confirmed by Google. Moreover, such an initiative would go against the fact that the company create the current Nexus 5 launcher (which is facing the KitKat Android 4.4) exclusively for this unit.
The image above illustrates the change of name, and you can also browse the settings of your device to identify it. To check out more information about this, simply follow the news here from Tecmundo.
