Nexus

Recently came a rumor that Google was planning to launch a new handset with the Nexus brand, but this time, he would not be in the price range of $ 300. According to information released by BGR, the device would cost less and its value could be up to $ 100 less. The question that remains is: how is this possible

The main challenge is that Google would use a processor manufactured by low-cost MediaTek?. A report from Taiwan’s Economic Daily News suggests that there are already some candidates and that possibly they would quad-core MT6732 64-bit running at 1.5 GHz and octa-core class=”definicao” MT6752 SoC running at 2.0 GHz

The big news is that both processors would be 64-bit, with architecture ARMv8 (why the 64-bit processors offer good performance ).

It is undeniable the cost-benefit of processors that are supposed to be used. However, for this reason, users should not expect excellence in both candidates cited. We’re talking about a low cost device, which basically requires that the components are not the elite of the current technology, which does not mean that the device is going to be bad in the end.

An example somewhat far, but very interesting to address when talking about cost-benefit is the Motorola Moto X. The device has a relatively low cost, if we think of its power, which is explained by 2 GB RAM chipset and GPU Adreno 320 quad-core .

Processors low cost MediaTek can not be compared to a Snapdragon Qualcomm , for example. Especially because the intention is to present a smartphone with some processing power, but at an affordable price for a wider variety of pockets. All these factors make the two possible candidates processors in weight compared to the final price of the Nexus 6. Let’s wait and see.
