Pichai prepares for the Google I / O, where he will be one of the executives in greater evidence. The main annual event Google starts on Wednesday in San Francisco, California. Will have an initial presentation of three hours (13h in Brazilian time, with live coverage of EXAME.com).

Despite being aimed at product developers, Google I / O was last year, strong appeal to consumers. At the event, Sergey Brin, and a team of paratroopers made an impressive demonstration of glasses Google Glass .

It was also there that Google unveiled its tablet Nexus 7 and failed sound system Nexus Q, plus the 4.1 Jelly Bean Android system. Pichai suggests that this year, the event should resume focus on developers, and Google services on the Internet should have more space than the gadgets.

Always diplomatic, Pichai denies that Samsung is a threat to Google. “The press exaggerates quite that,” he says. “Samsung is a great partner.” At one point, he takes his Galaxy S4 from his pocket and shows it to the reporter Steven Levy.
