Google releases new factory images for Nougat; Nexus 6, 6P and … – Tudocelular.com

The first round of security updates for Android nougat is ready, just eleven days after the official release of the operating system. New images of complete plants and OTAs are now available for installation, and there are also images based on Marshmallow to take the security changes to many devices including the Nexus 5, which does not officially get the Android 7.0.

Oddly, however, the factory images for Android 7.0 are not yet available for the Nexus 6P, Nexus 6 and Nexus 9 LTE. The firmware for these devices were not published or were only available briefly and then immediately removed. The reason for the absence is currently unknown. These models received security update based on Marshmallow.

Some speculation among users that the reason for this, specifically in the case of 6P, would be a battery bug that would have made Google to delay upgrading to Nougat. However, they are just rumors, and it possible that this idea comes from the fact that the Nexus 5X has much less battery problems reported than the 6P had the nougat.

However, until the Google say something officially about it, we can speculate much about errors with battery, security bugs, or problems with Qualcomm, since all of these issues have been rumored.

there is also nothing Nexus 7 (2013), although users were waiting some more security update. The numbers of new images are:

  • Pixel C – NRD90R
  •

  • Nexus 6P – MTC20L
  •

  • Nexus 5X – MTC20K, NRD90S
  •

  • Nexus 6 – MMB30W, MOB31E
  •

  • Nexus Player – NRD90R
  •

  • Nexus 9 LTE - MOB31E
  •

  • Nexus 9 Wi-Fi – NRD90R
  •

  • Nexus 5 – MOB31E
  •

Google has not yet posted the security bulletin for September.
