Check out the comparison between the S4 and Galaxy Nexus smartphones 4 - Tech & Net

With the imminent arrival of the new Galaxy S4 on Brazilian soil, it becomes increasingly difficult to decide which smartphone to buy among the many high-end models currently available. The new Samsung smartphone comes to the market with the mission of becoming the most powerful device of today and aims to win users seeking to harness the best in technology.

Tech & Net team prepared a comparison between the powerful Samsung Galaxy S4 and Nexus 4, the result of a partnership between Google and LG. Taking into account some key features of smartphones, such as performance, screen, operating system and battery, it is possible to have a broad overview of the advantages that each device can offer and thus decide which one best meets your needs. Check out the comparison of the two devices:

Performance

Galaxy S4 arrives in Brazil in versions quad-core processor, compatible with the 4G network in Brazil, and octa-core, only 3G. The version with only 3G has a processor that can be considered the first octa-core market. Within this chip are two processing units with different functions and architectures. Each of these units has four cores inside, where the first is used for simple tasks and the second for more complex functions, such as heavy gaming.

As a result, the top model of Samsung showed much higher performance than its competitor in benchmark tests conducted by Quadrant. Even in its quad-core version of 1.9 GHz, the Galaxy S4 appeared right in front of the Nexus 4 which, with its Quad-core 1.5 GHz Qualcomm, ranked only 13th place. Check the test result below:

Screen

new Galaxy S4 presents the latest generation of toughened glass Corning Gorilla Glass 3, considered three times more scratch resistant than its predecessor in this Nexus 4. Even the screen of Samsung’s top of the line passed a recent test and proved quite resistant to scratches and scuffs when in contact with the tip of pen knives, keys and coins.

Besides more resistant, 5-inch display Galaxy S4 is slightly larger than your competitor has 4.7 inches. As for the resolution, the Nexus 4 chose IPS screen 1280 by 768 pixels with a density of 318 ppi, while the S4 is equipped with a Super AMOLED screen, 1920 by 1080 pixels with 441 ppi. This means that the display of Samsung Galaxy S4 is larger and more distinct than the Nexus 4, however lost in color reproduction that are more saturated than its competitor.

Storage

Certainly this is one of the major weaknesses of Google Nexus 4. The device presents only versions with 8 GB and 16 GB of internal storage, with no option of microSD card expansion. In contrast, the Galaxy S4 shows versions with 16 GB, 32 GB and 64 GB of internal storage with the possibility of expansion up to 64 GB with microSD card.

Camera

Taking into account the resolutions, the Galaxy S4 has much better performance than its rival. The top line of Samsung displays 13-megapixel rear camera and 2-megapixel front, while the Nexus 4 comes with an 8 megapixel rear camera and 1.3 megapixel front.

The camera

fourth generation Galaxy also has some very interesting features such as Dual Shot, which records images using both the front and rear camera so that you participate in the photos you take, Action Shot, which captures moving objects and Picture with Sound, which takes pictures with small snippets of audio.

Already

the camera of the Nexus 4, has as one of its highlights feature PhotoSpheres, capturing photos in 360 degree panorama, similar those that can be seen from the Google Street View service.

Battery

Nexus 4 features a non-removable battery capacity of 2,100 mAh, allowing you to enjoy up to 15h of talk. Already the Samsung Galaxy S4 has 23.81% more power with his 2.600mAh battery that promises up to 17h of talk. Moreover, the great advantage of the latest high-end market is the fact the battery is removable allowing future replacement when necessary.

Operating System

Both devices feature the latest version of the Android operating system 4.2.2 Jelly Bean. However, the Nexus 4 has the advantage of coming equipped with what we call “pure Android”, ie, an operating system that does not suffer any change from the other manufacturers.

Thus, the Nexus 4 shows a screen cleaner and updates guaranteed by Google itself. Thus, the user has the choice to always keep your device up to date and do not want to depend on the release of the Samsung to change the version of your Android, you should opt for the Nexus 4.

Price

In this regard, the Nexus 4 is much more affordable than its competitor. While the machine result of a partnership between Google and LG costs around R $ 1,699, its rival Samsung has a suggested price of R $ 2,399 in the quad-core version compatible with the 4G network in Brazil and R $ 2,499 in version octa- core with only 3G.

Conclusion

Choosing between the latest Samsung Galaxy S4 and already known Nexus 4 is not as complex. If you are a hardcore user and want to enjoy the best that technology has to offer, your choice should be the Galaxy S4. Now, if you want to buy a smartphone with a reasonable money, and powerful operating system updates in real time, your option is certainly the Nexus 4.

But what do you think about this battle? Do not be left out of this debate and let your opinion. Which smartphone is your favorite?
