Google launched Android 5.1 recently Lollipop, where it brings several enhancements and fixes problems found in the first interaction Lollipop. However, not everything has been fixed, and always a bug or just another passing. Thus, the Mountain View giant has just released a new factory image for the Nexus and Nexus 5 6 to correct such small problems.

This refers to the code android-5.1. 0_r3 AOSP , which shows that this is the third review by the company with this version of the system. To install the new image on your Nexus Nexus 5 or 6, you need to have knowledge about the procedure via fastboot, and download the files below to your computer

Files Needed:.

Follow the steps below:

• Download the SDK and extract the file in the root of the C: drive on your PC

 

• Download and install the Windows drivers

 

• Turn off your Nexus

 

• Call holding the Volume Less + Power button button to enter the fastboot

 

• Connect your device to your PC to install the drivers

 

• Go to the SDK folder uncompressed on your PC

 

• Press Shift + right-click

 

• Select Open Command Window Here

 

And enter the following commands:

• Fastboot devices

 

• Fastboot oem unlock

 

Select Yes in the window that appears on your smartphone with the button Power .

After the procedure finish type fastboot reboot and your phone will reboot. The process can take 2-3 minutes to complete.

Installation via FLASH

process here is a little different from the previous. You will have to extract twice the downloaded image until you reach a file in tar format. . It is recommended to use 7zip program for this

After unpacking the image, follow the steps below:

• Turn off your Nexus

 

• Get in Fastboot mode (Volume Less + Power button)

 

• Connect your Nexus to your PC

 

• Click the file-all.bat flash file

 

• Wait until the procedure is finished

 

• Your phone will restart in about three minutes

 

If you do not restart automatically, select Recovery when the green robot appears, press Power + Volume More button and select “Wipe data / Factory data reset” .

Your Nexus will restart with Android 5.1 Lollipop revised. Now enjoy all the new features of this update of the little robot system.

For the Nexus 6, there is also another way to pass the new Android image for your smartphone. Follow the steps below if the guide above did not work out with you.

Alternative Method for the Nexus 6

For those who have problem in installing the factory image following the steps above, just unzip the file and install each manually via Fastboot following the commands below on your Windows command prompt:
