In the days before the annual conference of developers Google has come up with insistence the rumor that the company would launch a Nexus tablet at the event would be the last of the line. None of the information was true after all. There were no new tablet and the line will not be discontinued.

Dave Burk, head of Android and Nexus software engineering, confirmed to ReadWrite that Google does not want to back down, ensuring that the Nexus line is to maintain and as such will have new equipment in the portfolio over the next times.

The Nexus devices are manufactured by partners (such as LG or Samsung, for instance), displaying the mark of the partners and the mark of Google, which defines the characteristics of the models at the hardware level and software.

The news that Google was getting ready to leave the Nexus line came together with rumors about the launch of Android Silver program, an initiative through which the company would pay to fully develop smartphones Android upscale, with a set of pre-defined features. The head of Nexus comes now clarified that each initiative will make its way. The Android Silver will be released next year.
