Nexus 5 is a beautiful smartphone. We had access to the version of the device with white back, and it was a wonderful surprise to discover that the back does not stain easily, not greasy digital guard. Google seems to have done well to give up the rear glass, view the Nexus 4. Although very interesting, the glass allowed the fragile smartphone twice: in addition to not worry about damaging the screen, you also had to keep an eye on the back. In the end, the design of the Nexus 5 is sleek and precise, and there is an aspect of cell well finished. A special touch is the side buttons, ceramic.

Although

big screen of 4.95 inches, the new Nexus is not difficult to use with one hand. That’s because LG saved on the sides, more or less as it did with its top of the line LG G2. The display occupies almost the entire front of the device, since there are no physical buttons on it, just the bar of virtual buttons feature of Android. The screen resolution, incidentally, is quite good: it is a full HD with 1080 x 1720 pixels (445 ppi). Strengthening the Gorilla Glass 3 should still make it more resistant to scratches, though not indestructible, it is worth mentioning.

hardware Nexus combines a 5 800 Snapdragon 2.3GHz with 2GB of RAM, which ensures optimum performance to run any application from Google Play, including heavier. A possible disappointment might be the lack of microSD card slot, which limits internal storage for 16 or 32 GB, depending on the chosen by the user at the time of purchase version.

brightness Nexus 5, despite the hardware “killer”, is in the software. After all, it runs the latest version of Android. The unit we tested was running 4.4, but is now available for the 4.4.2 update that, among other things, brings welcome improvements to the camera app. The launcher with transparencies in the upper and lower bars makes the screen appear larger, and apps menu was undeniably more clean without the widget bar that was there before. The dialer also won a very nice feature, which lets you search for nearby establishments. The dialer then delivered as a result the phone numbers, so just a touch to turn.

not had the chance to make deeper tests with the camera and the battery – these will be for the full review. It advance, however, the specifications. The rear camera carries an 8 megapixel sensor, and is accompanied by LED flash, the front has a 1.3 megapixel sensor. The 2,300 mAh battery is not surprising for a top of the line, but should provide about a full day’s charge with moderate use.

Nexus 5 is really an amazing smartphone. Good design, specifications and software, and subscription to Google to close the set. A top of the line in terms of fighting Xperia Z1, iPhone 5S, Galaxy S4 and perhaps cannibalize the LG G2, although this was slightly higher specifications in some questions. Unfortunately, there is no confirmed date or price of the Nexus 5 arrival on Brazilian soil.
