Nexus online venture? Google plans to produce their own … – Tudocelular.com

Recently I saw the news that Google had plans to standardize the hardware for smartphones with Android system. This would help to reduce fragmentation, since having the same specifications for each device, rather facilitate the launch of new versions of the company’s system. Of course, this becomes a utopian desire, since we will not see many companies interested in these bonds, because such a change would end the freedom always offered by the search giant.

According to site The Information, Google has even more plans. The company is not only interested in a specific hardware, but in developing their own smartphones. But there is no longer the Nexus line? Currently, members of this line are produced by partner companies and Google takes care only of the part of the software to ensure that Android comes from “pure” form for users and ensures quickly updates.

If the Nexus line has been working, why Google would be considering the idea of creating their own smartphones? Because the focus has been to provide products with lower prices, the Nexus smartphones are derived projects from existing smartphones. The Nexus 6, for example, is nothing more than a Moto X in 2014 on a large scale. But the Nexus 5 is a slightly modified version of the LG G2. With a completely new line, Google would be free to launch the smartphone to search without relying on any other company.

This change was expected when Google acquired Motorola years ago. Thus, we might expect exclusive smartphones between them. But to the surprise of many, the company eventually sold to Lenovo. However, this does not prevent him from seeing Google investing on your own hardware, such as Pixel C tablet with Android system. Unlike the Nexus tablet, the C Pixel was developed, produced and released by Google itself, without the intervention of any other manufacturer.

What Google would gain so hard to have your own smartphone? Control. According to OpenSignal report, there are currently more than 25 000 different smartphones with the little robot system produced by almost 1300 manufacturers! Looking at these figures we can see the monstrous universe to the little robot was wandering and losing its way. Google wants to stop and prevent before it completely loses control over his creation. Is there still time for that?

When you have control over the hardware and software, Google could prove the experience that Apple has with its iPhone. Thus, the Mountain View giant could deliver a more secure, optimized and more frequent updates to all its customers. It was not clear if the Nexus line continue to exist, but this new initiative would be more interesting for the company and also for users.
