After the great controversy surrounding the vulnerability of Stagefright , considered the largest security breach ever seen on Android, Google said it would give more attention to the Nexus line to launch at least one monthly update aimed to reduce the little robot from security breaches. The Stagefright has been resolved by now, but we have seen a new update come to correct several others.
Yesterday, all users of the Nexus 4 devices, Nexus 5, Nexus 6 Nexus 7 (2013) and Nexus 9 , began receiving the update via OTA under code name LMY48M . The new package does not offer a version jump, as it continues on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop, but brings fixes for bugs and security holes. So do not expect to see news in the system that is expected to gain new features or improvements of existing only with Marshmallow to be released later this month.
If you do not want to wait for the news to get over the air on your phone, just download the factory image and install it manually on your Nexus device. Remember that this method will delete all data . If you wanted to, back up, or wait for the news to arrive via OTA for you
