There are several indications that the next version of Android, codenamed Android L , really will be named Lemon Meringue Pie. Evidence suggest that the first device to bring a new version of the system will be manufactured by HTC Nexus 8 with Tegra K1 and generous 4GB of RAM memory.
Now, new details emerge showing the version of the build system – LRW50D . The letter L refers to the name of the system, while R refers to the branch where the code originated. The third letter, in this case the W , indicates that the code was compiled in the third quarter of the year and after the number indicates the days spent in that quarter. Thus, the code was compiled in August 19 . The final letter indicates the choice between tested, in this case, fourth version version.
Another information found in the above image refers to the device on which to build was tested, called here “New Nexus 7″ , perhaps referring to the tablet launched by ASUS last year. This, however, does not mean that the system is already ready. Other builds may be currently under test. But with only two months to launch, it is expected that Google already finalizing the code for the new version of Android .
